Apr 07, 2023Use ‘Noise Isolation’ to muffle background sounds when making calls
Let's say that you’re in Happy Valley Laundry with every washing machine and dryer going full blast, and you decide to end your relationship with your girlfriend. Well, I have good news for you. You’ll be able to call her up, and she won't hear any laundry machines going on in the background while on your iPhone.
It's called "Noise Isolation," and it muffles background noise. While talking to her, all you have to do is swipe down from the right side of your iPhone — the control panel pops up with all kind of icons.
Look for the white box with "Mic Mode" and click on it. You get three options: Standard, Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum. You can only use Wide Spectrum while in FaceTime, which I wouldn't suggest if you want her to see your face telling her to travel down another road by herself. You just saved yourself a stamp and a Dear Mary letter.
Tired of sliding your finger to the right every time you want to select the next page of your story while using the iBook App? The iBook has a new feature that can make the page curl instead, but it's a little difficult to get to the iBook settings. You have to tap your finger on the page number where you are, then double-tap on the right side of the number. An icon appears — tap on it to bring up a menu. Click on "Themes and Settings" and choose the icon that looks like a square with the right lower side cut off. Now choose "Curl." Like I said, it took me awhile to get to the "Settings" menu by tapping my finger. I almost wore it out and punched a hole on my iPad!
If you’re buying an app from the App Store, it's best that you go to Wikipedia, research the App and look for reviews of what other people say about it.
Another caution when downloading a program or app on your computer is to click on the right site.
Let's give you an example. Say, for instance, your computer needs Adobe software. If you open up Safari and type in "Download Adobe Acrobat" in the Search Box, you’ll see about ten different sites to download it. Now, the important thing is to not choose a website like "North Korea Adobe Website." Chances are you’ll get a virus, malware or maybe even get shot. Only choose http:\\www.adobe.com to download the app.
